BEHIND THE BREAK
Meet our Founders
Abdul Paravengal
The Accidental Spark
I still remember the day I took my 2-year-old daughter on a two-day trip to Cambodia—just the two of us. No elaborate plans, no safety nets—just an adventure. And it was inspiring. Somewhere between temple runs and street food, I realized travel wasn’t just about places. It was about presence.
A few months later, over coffee in Calicut, I was catching up with Naina, reminiscing about that trip. That’s when she shared her stories—spontaneous, chaotic, yet oddly perfect. Solo trips across Rajasthan, the Northeast, and Delhi, squeezed between engineering deadlines. We laughed about how travel keeps us sane in a world that constantly demands more. Then, somewhere in that conversation, it clicked—why do only a few get to experience this reset? Shouldn’t more people have access to a real “burnout break”?
But ideas are only as good as the people who bring them to life. I knew exactly who to call.

The Unscripted Dreamer
I’ve always juggled between engineering, art, and management, but if there’s one thing that has shaped me—it’s travel. Every trip I’ve taken, from Rajasthan to the Northeast, has been a rebellion against routine. So when Abdul mentioned his Cambodia story, it felt like fate. A mind vacation—why hadn’t anyone built something like this before?
The first person who came to mind was Sukila. We’ve been neighbors, rule-breakers, and late-night chai philosophers since my freshman year. We’ve talked about everything—fashion, startups, food, and dreams that felt too big to be real. I knocked on her door at midnight with an idea. “Suki, have you slept? We got something brewing.”
Four hours later, Burnout Break was no longer just a thought. It was happening.

The Late-Night Co-Conspirator
Naina and I have always shared the same wavelength—whether it was breaking the unspoken junior-senior hierarchy in college, cooking together in our hostel rooms, or obsessing over entrepreneurship. So when she knocked on my door at midnight with that mischievous look in her eyes, I knew this was something big.
We sat until 4 AM, sketching out what this “burnout break” could be. What if we built experiences that weren’t just about escaping reality but about redefining it? We weren’t looking for a vacation. We were looking for something deeper. Something that made people feel alive again.
And the team? It had to be people who had lived this mindset.

The Seeker
I first met Abdul because I messaged him on LinkedIn for a job. He saw something in my profile, and from that day forward, we’ve worked together across different ventures. But work is just one part of the story. Indonesia wasn’t just a move for my career—it was a move for my soul. Something about this place—its spirituality, its raw energy—made me feel more me.
So when Abdul told me about Burnout Break, it wasn’t even a question. It was a yes. Because I knew what it meant to leave everything behind to find something greater. And now, we’re creating a space where others can do the same.

The Always-Ready Adventurer
I’ve always believed that if you’re packed and ready, adventure will find you. For me, travel isn’t about where you go—it’s about saying yes before you even know the destination. That’s how I ended up in the UAE with just a few hours' notice for an edtech startup. That’s how I met Abdul—one of the rare people who matched my crazy energy. And then there was Nepal—one of those spontaneous Abdul-and-me trips that ended up with us hitting Kathmandu’s best clubs, laughing over the madness of it all.
When he called me about Burnout Break, I didn’t hesitate. Because I knew exactly what this was about. It was about creating experiences for people who don’t want to just exist—they want to feel.
